Bridal Spotlight: Abby's Dress Pick- BHLDN

By Abby Saylor Armbruster

Hey guys! I'm VERY excited to be sharing with you the wedding dress shop I chose to purchase my dress from: BHLDN!

I discovered BHLDN on Pinterest about 1.5-2 years ago, and after doing a little website skimming and checking their store locations, I knew that the Chicago location was where I wanted to get my dress from. BHLDN is actually Anthropologie's wedding brand, offering bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, accessories and more!

The store is absolutely gorgeous! There are the most beautiful dresses hanging everywhere, pretty wood floors and chic furniture. Everyone working there was so incredibly nice and they made the experience really fun and stress-free. I never once felt like we were rushed, and shout-out to my girl Melissa for helping me climb into all those gowns — she was great!

BHLDN has so many dress styles ranging in price from around $200 and up, so there truly is something for everyone. I think every bride can find something she likes at BHLDN — if you love the boho style like me, you’ll be in heaven for sure!

I was interested in trying on dresses with beading, and a low back or intricate back detail with additional colors incorporated other than solid white — such as nude or ivory. There were tons of options that fit this criteria and I ended up trying on about six or so dresses. I did plenty of research online before scheduling my appointment, so I had a good idea of specific dresses I wanted the associate to pull. I highly suggest doing research and saving pictures of dresses you like to show your assigned associate when you go shopping, this way she has a good idea of what you style is and what she needs to be looking for.

I scheduled my bridal appointment online a couple months in advance. If you’re interested in going to this store within the near future, I suggest looking at their schedule soon because spots fill up fast. There is no cost to reserve an appointment either, just be sure to notify them in advance if you have to cancel. When you schedule an appointment, BHLDN actually requests a link to your Pinterest board, your dress size, as well as the names of a few dresses you'd like to try on. This helps them to be prepared and ready to go right when you walk in the door!

BHLDN offers free returns, so if you find yourself feeling torn on what dress to get, you can order multiple and have them shipped to your house. You can then return the ones you don't want within 30 days for a refund! I suggest doing this, especially if you are having an outdoor wedding, because this allows you to try them on outside at home in natural light before you make your final decision.

Thank you so much for reading and check back for another post from me in the next couple weeks!
